Course Outline

After completing this course, participants will be able to effectively use a framework to develop a marketing strategy with impact. You’ll notice that we’re talking about a marketing strategy, not a digital marketing strategy. During the course, you’ll understand why that distinction isn’t helpful and find out when to start looking at marketing channels.
module 1

DSI Framework

An introduction to the DSI Framework – Data, Strategy and Implementation. We will look at how the framework was developed and how to use it effectively.

module 2

Company & Customer

Understanding why anyone will buy your product or service and who your ideal customers are the cornerstones of a great marketing strategy. Module 2 will take up around half of the programme but is worth committing the time to.

module 3

Competition & Context

Using a series of simple models, we run through competitor analysis to see how things are done in your industry and work out where you can stand out.

module 4

Competence & Content

Marketing strategies live or die by the people who implement them, so it’s crucial to look at what skills you have or can access. And then we can start to plan content calendars and look at how you come up with content ideas.

module 5

Working out what it’s worth if you get it right, understanding what to invest in marketing and what metrics you need to look at to know you’re on the right track.

module 6

Knowing what steps to take once you have your strategy can be the difference between success and failure – a great document means nothing unless it is implemented properly.
